Dear Editor,
Since the Ten Commandments monuments were removed from the fronts of our area
schools in June, our community has been in mourning. A great sorrow has fallen
over us since that fateful day when those sacred slabs of rock were taken from us by that ACLU lawsuit. Collectively, our community feels that it has lost something.
I too lost something on that fateful day at the monuments protest: one of my
contact lenses. I can't be sure when, but at some point during the proceedings,
it popped right out of my eye. There was so much going on, I didn't even notice
at the time. I think I may have lost it around the spot where our local clergy
were carted away by the police.
I have called the Sheriff's Office, but they don't have any leads, so I thought
I'd plead my case to the public. The lens is soft, a Bausch and Lamb, roughly
a half inch in diameter, and has a prescription for someone with 20/100 vision.
I know that the county is going through a rough time right now, but I hope
we can all band together to find my missing contact lens. It's been almost six
weeks, and I'm starting to get worried. It's never been gone this long before. If anyone has any information, please (pardon the pun) "contact" me.
Sincerely,
Ryan
