Did I ever tell you
About Dicky Dale?
He's the boy
That caught the comet's tail
He waited awhile
For Comet Guggly-geers
That only comes around
Every million years.
When he saw its sparkle
He jumped up high
Roaring, soaring,
Into the sky
In a furious triumphant blast
He caught the comet in his grasp
It threw him left and bucked him right
But Dicky Dale was up for the fight
He climbed up the comet's
Slippery skin
It threw him off,
He tried again
He grabbed that comet
By its neck
And steered it to space
Where two disappeared
One tiny speck
He rode the rocket
Through time and space
Had many adventures
And saw every place
But Dicky grew old
And the comet did not
It tired of Dicky Dale
And finally bucked him off
He floated away
In the blackness of space
And became a star
Far above the human race
So when there is a comet flash
Reflected in your eyes
Take your chance and grab hold tight
And see heaven before you die
